Vigilante Laundry: This Dodge College graduate TV pilot is about a woman named Tessa, and her friend, Marie, who is obsessed with Tessa's superhero identity "The Vigilante". This is a classic story of navigating feelings of romance while fighting crime.

This was a super fun costume to figure out. The Vigilante isn't well known and is just starting out, so simplicity was key. It also had to be comfy enough to actually fight crime in. Which meant sweatpants, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt layered with a hoodie.

The back view highlighting The Vigilante's logo. "JD" stands for "Just Desserts" and the ring around the edge is a croissant, channeling her alter ego's favorite past time, baking. I printed it out on iron on transfer paper and ironed it on to the jacket.

Marie is in business and marketing, and wants to get The Vigilante some positive press. Her outfit is professional and put together, as she's meeting The Vigilante that night.

Irene was super fun to create. She's not a real villain, she just likes messing with Tessa, her ex. The director didn't want to go with blue or white ice for the villain, so we chose purple ice instead. Her mask was inspired by Poison Ivy, with icicles made from cellophane and hot glue, and puffy paint for the details. The director liked the style of her shoes but not the color, so I painted the shoes the same color as the mask.

Tessa was described to me as "messy lesbian", and I think her look in this picture speaks for itself.

The contrast of Marie and Tessa in the laundromat. Marie is put together and Tessa is messy. It was essential to show their different personalities in this scene, and I did that with their different styles. These two have feelings for each other, complicated by Tessa's vigilante work.
